quick and easy chocolate banana cake
Makes: 20 cm round cake | Preparation time: 15 minutes | Bake time: 40 minutes
What You Need
3 medium over-ripe bananas, mashed
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups caster sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
What You Do
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF/180ºC.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk bananas, eggs, oil, milk, water and vanilla.
4. Add wet to dry and stir until just combined.
5. Pour batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
7. Allow to cool before removing from pan. Finish cooled cake with chocolate glaze topping, if desired.
